My new obsession

* Don't forget about my current giveaway.  The giveaway end at noon CST TODAY, so go, go, GO HERE to sign up!

I'm not sure what's come over me in the past 6 months or so, but somehow, I'm becoming more of a homemaker.

First it was cooking.  All of the sudden, I love to cook!  I search blogs and websites for new recipes, make weekly menus, bake for the neighbors, and dream about having my very own Kitchenaid Stand Mixer.

Let the angels sing.

In fact, I've been cooking so much to I think I've spoiled Joey.  He called me yesterday to say he would cook dinner (he was off work).  About 20 minutes later he called me back and said, "I've been standing in the kitchen for 15 minutes and still haven't started dinner. I think I forgot how to cook."  LOL.  Seriously, I think I've spoiled him.

And as if this cooking thing wasn't strange enough, now I can NOT get enough of home decorating.  I'm literally addicted to browsing decorating blogs.  Thrifty Decor Chick is my current fav.

I have a running list of all the things that I want to do, broken down by room.  I haven't shown the list to Joey, or even told him about it, because he will flip out!  Things like that totally stress him out.  (I really hope he's not reading this.)

My first decorating project was the tops of the kitchen cabinets.  I don't have a picture, but trust me, they look good!

For my next project, I decided to go a bit more "Home Improvement" and did something that required power tools.  I framed the guest bathroom mirror.  (Well, Joey did help after my first attempt was a major FAIL. Thanks babe!)  I went to Home Depot, bought the moulding, used a power miter saw to cut the ends to 45 degree angles, painted it, and glued it the mirror.

(I'm still not sure what else I want to do in here.  I know I'll replace the light fixture - the new one is in the garage just waiting to be installed - and I'm thinking about painting the cabinets, but I'm not sure what color to paint them.  Any suggestions??)

I used the guest bath as a test site, but my main purpose is to frame the master bath mirror.  I'm DONE with all this builder grade junk!  I mean, it's about time, right?  We've only lived there for, um... 8 YEARS! And we're moving next year.  But, I figure these are just improvements that will increase the value of our house, right?

Now, just to clarify, when I said I was turning into a homemaker, please note that I was not speaking of cleaning.  That bug hasn't bit me, and I pray it never will.  I have way too much to do.  What, with all my cooking and decorating, I can't be bothered with cleaning!

So, tell me - What's your favorite decorating blog? Cooking/recipe blog?  I can't get enough!

THE Stephanie
I’m Stephanie - wife to one extremely handsome cop; mother to two extremely silly kids. The hubs and I have been married since February ’99. I love him more each day and simply can’t get enough of him. My daughter, Ashton, is 12 going on 17. She’s beautiful, creative, smart, and oh, so sassy. Taylor, our son, is 8 and is so much like his daddy it’s scary. He makes me laugh all the time with the silly things he says and does. He won’t remember what you told him 5 minutes from now, just like his daddy. I love to laugh and spend time with friends and family. I’ve also recently discovered a love for cooking and enjoy sharing recipes. I love finding new blog friends, so be sure to leave a comment so I can do the same!
