to iphone or not to iphone. that is the question.

Joey and I have been considering iphones for a while, but we're still under contract with s*print, blah blah blah. Anywho... this is where you all come in.

I'm slightly perturbed at what appears to be a ridiculous amount of fees associated with simply having an iphone, much less the phone, data, and internet fees. But maybe i'm wrong. So all of you out there that have iphones - what's the scoop? Will I have to sell my first born to pay the monthly bill? do you have any problems with the service? be honest with me, k?

I've never had any trouble with s*print, and honestly, I feel like they have the best plans. You may hurt me if you knew what I pay each month for the 4 lines we have on unlimited calls, texting, and internet, which is what makes me nervous to switch.

But I'm happy to let you all convince me otherwise. Because I do think the iphone is pretty sweet.

My friends who have the iPhone pay a crazy amount each month for their package. We considered the iPhone, but once I heard how much they pay, no way. Call me cheap, but I only pay 62.00 a month for our phones and I want to keep it that way.

I've heard AT&T may loose their exclusivity with the Iphone. I'm not sure how much truth there is to it but it may be a good research project. Yeah, they are cool phones, but you have to pay everything individually. :(

I know the iPhones are great and you can do literally everything on them. But when I looked into switching, the fees involved were too much. The phones themselves are like $100 each. Then you pay an additional $20 per phone per month, on top of the normal contract, just to be able to use the internet and all the apps. It ended up being too much. However, I think we will still switch to ATT once our contracts are up, but we will probably stick with non-fancy phones.

this is why you should just get a palm pre like me and stick with sprint. same thing but smaller and you dont feel like your carrying around a computer in your pocket....

I do not know anything about the costs. I just know I want one! I have a Blackberry Storm but I also have in iPod touch (basically the iPhone without the phone) and I use the iPod apps more than I use my phone!

I have had my iPhone since they came out, and I love it. It is very convenient, and I could -never- see myself having any other phone.

The fees really aren't THAT bad...IF you want that convenience.

I pay $80 a month just for my phone. My husband and I are on a family plan, but when he deployed in Iraq, my bill was a steady $80. I have the smallest plan for minutes ($39.99), and then there's a...I wanna say $40-$45 Unlimited Data plan. Unlimited EVERYTHING...web...e-mail...iTunes access...WiFi...texts...media messages...you name it.

That said, to me, it's worth it. I love my iPhone. :) But if $80 is too much for you, and you don't really care too much about all the fancy pants stuff, then it's probably not worth it. :)

Just my 10 cents. :)

You know I'm an iPhone fan so I might be biased but my iphone plan doesn't cost me more than my blackberry plan did. Also Sprint will lose exclusivity, I can check with you when this will happen ( I think may but not sure) they might have great plans so I think you should wait before you make the switch. Also if you used your phone mostly at home or at work since you have wifi you don't need a huge data plan.

I used to have a blackberry and I paid the same monthly bill that I do now for my iPhone - however the iPhone has so many more features than the blackberry so i feel like I get more bang for my buck.

I have the Samsung Moment from Sprint and it is just like the iphone but actually has more to offer. My carrier is sprint and I just got the everything plan and it isn't bad at all! I love the phone! I like that you can be on the phone, check an e-mail and get navigation all at once! I tried it once. I also love that it is touch screen however I chose to also have the slide. there is the hero and it is just touch screen but has all the same features! At&t's service is in and out ove the states. Good luck on your search!

I LOVE MY IPHONE! Wouldn't do without it. Hubby pays the bill - but he wouldn't pay it if it wasn't worth it!
